The Inventory Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory control and management for the winery, ensuring accurate tracking of wine, merchandise, packaging materials, and supplies. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining efficient and organized stock levels, managing orders, and ensuring timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with inventory systems, and a keen attention to detail, ensuring the winery’s operations run smoothly and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the winery’s inventory of wine, merchandise, packaging materials, and operational supplies, ensuring proper stock levels are maintained.
  • Develop and implement inventory control systems, including receiving, stocking, and organizing products in the warehouse and tasting room.
  • Track and record inventory levels using inventory management software, performing regular audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate and oversee the ordering process for all supplies, including wine, packaging, and other operational materials, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the production team to track wine production and bottle inventory, ensuring efficient turnover and proper storage conditions.
  • Work with the tasting room, marketing, and sales teams to ensure inventory availability for events, promotions, and special orders.
  • Monitor and manage inventory for the wine club program, ensuring wine shipments are properly stocked and available for timely fulfillment.
  • Maintain proper storage conditions for wines and other inventory, ensuring products are stored at optimal temperatures and in accordance with winery standards.
  • Develop and implement processes for inventory rotation, ensuring older stock is used first and minimizing the risk of spoilage or product waste.
  • Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the storage area, ensuring safe handling and efficient retrieval of products.
  • Assist with inventory forecasting and planning, working closely with other departments to anticipate demand based on sales projections and seasonal trends.
  • Track inventory costs and report on key metrics, helping management optimize inventory turnover and reduce excess stock.
  • Manage returns, damaged goods, and discrepancies, coordinating with vendors and suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to alcohol inventory and storage.
  • Perform other duties as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the winery’s inventory management system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or logistics, ideally in the wine, beverage, or retail industry.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and software (e.g., Vin65, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Experience with order management, stock tracking, and warehouse organization.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in inventory records and stock management.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across departments (e.g., production, tasting room, sales).
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of wine storage requirements and best practices is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), and familiarity with inventory management tools and software.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks associated with inventory handling.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings for special events or peak seasons.
