Cellar Hand

The Cellar Hand will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the winery cellar, including fermentation, aging, and bottling processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in winemaking or winery operations, a strong attention to detail, and a passion for wine production.

We are looking for a highly motivated and reliable Cellar Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel at working in a hands-on environment, maintaining high-quality standards, and supporting the winemaking process from harvest through bottling. The Cellar Hand will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including cleaning, monitoring fermentation, and preparing wines for aging and bottling.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the fermentation, racking, and blending of wines
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cellar, ensuring all equipment is sanitized
• Monitor fermentation processes and ensure proper temperature control
• Perform routine checks on barrels and tanks, ensuring optimal conditions for aging
• Assist with the preparation of wines for bottling, including filtering and fining
• Help with grape processing, crushing, and pressing during harvest
• Maintain accurate records of cellar activities, including inventory and production data
• Work closely with the winemaking team to ensure quality standards are met
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Enology, Viticulture, or related field preferred
• 1+ years of experience in a winery or cellar operations role
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and handle heavy equipment
• Knowledge of winemaking processes and cellar equipment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, especially during harvest season
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks in varying conditions
