Transportation Manager
The Transportation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of transportation operations to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics management, a strong attention to detail, and a passion for optimizing supply chain processes.
We are looking for a highly motivated and reliable Transportation Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel at managing teams, developing strategies, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations. The Transportation Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including route planning, fleet management, and vendor coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee transportation plans to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Manage and coordinate fleet operations, including scheduling and maintenance
- Optimize routes and transportation methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency
- Collaborate with vendors, carriers, and internal teams to ensure seamless operations
- Monitor transportation performance metrics and implement improvements as needed
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations
- Resolve transportation issues and address delays or disruptions proactively
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, expenses, and fleet maintenance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in transportation or logistics management
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in logistics software and route optimization tools
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to perform occasional on-site inspections and oversee fleet operations
